Preset loaded: 48 KB — just under UPPSC's 50 KB photo ceiling. The signature ceiling is lower, at 30 KB.

Quality is lowered only as far as the floor allows. If that still isn't enough, the image is scaled down in small steps instead — downscaling looks far better than heavy compression artifacts. EXIF metadata (location, camera, serial numbers) is always removed for your privacy; colour accuracy is kept.
UPPSC's One Time Registration guideline sets the photograph at 5 × 6 cm and under 50 KB, and the signature at 6 × 3 cm and under 30 KB, both at 200 DPI in true colour. Unusually, it states ceilings without a floor, so there is no minimum to worry about here — but it also does not state a file format, so JPEG is the safe assumption rather than a documented requirement. Because OTR is used across every UPPSC recruitment, getting these right once saves repeating the work.
The result always lands just under it.
