Preset loaded: 18 KB at 220 px — under BPSC's 20 KB ceiling. Remember you need two signatures, not one.
Portal limits change — double-check the current notification before you submit.
Quality is lowered only as far as the floor allows. If that still isn't enough, the image is scaled down in small steps instead — downscaling looks far better than heavy compression artifacts. EXIF metadata (location, camera, serial numbers) is always removed for your privacy; colour accuracy is kept.
Two things about BPSC's One Time Registration surprise people. First, there is no photograph upload at all — it is captured live through your webcam during registration. Second, it asks for two signatures rather than one: a Hindi signature and an English signature, each under 20 KB and each between 150–220 pixels wide and 250–320 pixels tall. Note that this is a portrait shape, taller than it is wide, which is the opposite of the wide 140 × 60 strip most other exams want — so crop accordingly rather than reusing a signature prepared for SSC or IBPS. Widely circulated figures of 200 × 230 px at 100 KB for BPSC do not appear in the official instructions.
The result always lands just under it.
