Preset loaded: JPEG, 190 KB for the photo. The CUET signature band is narrower — 10–50 KB — so set 45 KB for that.
Portal limits change — double-check the current notification before you submit.
Quality is lowered only as far as the floor allows. If that still isn't enough, the image is scaled down in small steps instead — downscaling looks far better than heavy compression artifacts. EXIF metadata (location, camera, serial numbers) is always removed for your privacy; colour accuracy is kept.
The CUET UG bulletin sets the photograph at 10–200 KB and the signature at 10–50 KB, both in JPG or JPEG. The signature band is the one to watch: it is half what NEET and JEE Main allow, so a signature file prepared for those exams will often be too large for CUET even though everything else about it is identical. NTA publishes no pixel dimensions for either, only that the face should fill about 80% of the photo including the ears, against a white background. PwD certificates go up as PDFs at 50–300 KB.
The result always lands just under it.
